Things to Do in Los Cristianos, Tenerife
1. Montaña de Guaza Natural Monument
If you enjoy hiking, exploring the Montaña de Guaza is one of the top things to do in Los Cristianos. This Natural Monument, one of the most stunning volcanic domes on the island, offers some of the best views of Los Cristianos, and on clear days, you can even see La Gomera.
Standing over 400 meters above sea level, the mountain features a circular trail that takes about three hours to complete. Along the way, you’ll encounter lava flows, fossils, caves, and ancient burial sites, as this mountain was considered sacred by the island’s indigenous Guanche people. Its unique structure, with concentric craters and cliffs descending toward the sea, is a remarkable example of Tenerife’s volcanic landscape.
The easiest way to reach Montaña de Guaza is from Los Cristianos. Take the TF-1 road, exit onto the TF-665 toward the village, and drive about 2.7 km to Playa Graciosa. There, you’ll find parking and access to the trails leading to the Reserve.

Whale and dolphin tours typically depart from Puerto Colón. During these trips, you’ll board a catamaran to explore Tenerife’s waters, where you can listen to the communication sounds of marine life through special equipment. The guide will also share fascinating insights about the local marine ecosystem. While sightings are common, they’re not guaranteed as they depend on currents and weather conditions.

How to Get to Los Cristianos
Tenerife has two airports, but Tenerife South Airport is much closer to Los Cristianos, about 17 kilometers away, making it the best option. However, if you find a good deal flying into Tenerife North, don’t worry. Even without renting a car, you can reach Los Cristianos by bus. Just keep in mind the time of arrival, as night connections can be limited, and a taxi from north to south usually costs around €100.
The best way to explore the island is by renting a car, giving you the freedom to move without relying on buses. You’ll find rental offices at the airport and the port. The rental company I always use and recommend in the Canary Islands is CICAR.
If you don’t want to drive or don’t have a license, you can use the Titsa buses. Take bus number 40, which will drop you at the Los Cristianos bus station in just over 30 minutes. From there, you have several options to get around the island. I recommend downloading the Titsa App for all the routes.
Where to Stay in Los Cristianos
Los Cristianos offers plenty of accommodation options, as it’s one of the most popular tourist areas in Tenerife. You’ll find all kinds of hotels, full apartments, and shared accommodations for those on a budget.
Since Los Cristianos is quite large, make sure to research where you’ll be staying, as there are many hills, which can be challenging after a relaxing day. If you don’t plan to rent a car, it’s best to stay near the beach.
Even so, Los Cristianos is one of the best areas to stay in Tenerife if you want to enjoy great weather and the sea.
Where to Eat in Los Cristianos
The options are endless: from upscale restaurants to a McDonald’s right on Las Vistas beach. There’s something for every budget. Among the most popular are Luxalard Restaurant, Sal Fina Restaurant, and Pa’ Lante Restaurant.
